Piano and Vocals By Ms Kathy Sander
Ms Kathy Sander is a professional pianist and vocalist, providing entertainment throughout Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane since she was 17. Some highlights of her career include studying with Brachi Tilles, performing for royalty and government dignitaries, and backing Frank Sinatra, Liberace, and Dionne Warwick. Kathy currently works as a freelance musician. She is an associate artist at the Queensland Conservatorium, an accompanist, and a private theory and piano teacher at Brisbane Grammar School, and Brisbane Girls Grammar School, previously at the Stuartholme School. Kathy brings a unique style to our bands for hire with her subtle vocals and substantial piano expertise.
Bass and Vocals By Mr Bryan Pearson
Mr Bryan Pearson is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, born and educated in the United Kingdom. His grand achievements include performing and recording with the Tommy Watt Orchestra and touring the world aboard P & O Passenger Liners with Hubert Warren Orchestras. He has also backed many stars, including Les Dawson, Tommy Cooper, Eric Idle, and the King’s Singers. Bryan continues to thrive in his career as both a freelance musician and a Multi-Instrumental Music Specialist Teacher for Education Queensland. His dulcet tones add a very special and unique sound to Amica – the blend of vocals between Bryan and Kathy lend themselves to all sorts of gigs in town.

Why Us
Over the past 17 years, our musicians for hire have been providing quality, professional entertainment in Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. We are happy to work with you to adjust the setlist to properly suit your preferences. We use a high-quality Bose sound system and will bring our own keyboard if there is no piano at the venue. We also offer cost-effective packages that enable our jazz band to pair with another Mood Music Musicians group or DJ to provide entertainment for your entire night.
With extensive experience as professional musicians, in the Classical, Jazz, and Commercial music scene, Bryan and Kathy have put together a very special combination of genres. Covering the Swing Era, classic Jazz standards, Foxtrots and Tangos, latin grooves from Brazil and Cuba, the great American Songbook, Continental Music from Italy, France, Germany, Spain – through to popular songs from all eras. Performing old school rock and pop is a speciality – think Billy Joel, Sting, Beatles!
Amica Jazz Duo have increased their repertoire and now include contemporary songs suitable to our style – we particularly like Adele, Harry Styles and Coldplay, and happy to learn special requests if required. Please refer to our FAQs for more information on this. Grand Piano and Upright Bass add that special touch to your event. If the venue requires it, we are pleased to bring our own keyboard and electric bass. Amica Jazz Duo sound is professionally realised by our Bose Sound System and is all inclusive in the quote.
